Marisa G. Button joined the firm in August 2008 as a member of the litigation and labor & employment law groups. She concentrates her practice in the areas of commercial litigation and immigration law.
Marisa handles commercial litigation in general contract and business tort disputes. She assists clients in resolving disputes in industries such as manufacturing, insurance, professional services, real estate and construction, among others.
Additionally, Marisa focuses her practice on helping individuals, families and businesses with all types of immigration matters. She provides legal counsel on immigrant and non-immigrant visa petitions, petitions for extensions of stay and change of status, adjustment of status, consular processing and naturalization procedures.
Marisa graduated from Dickinson College with a B.A. degree in political science. She completed her J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law, cum laude, where she participated in the University of Baltimore Immigrant Rights Clinic and completed a judicial internship at the Baltimore Immigration Court.
Marisa previously served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Judge John C. Uhler in the Court of Common Pleas of York County,
Marisa is an active member of the York County Bar Association where she is a member of the Board of Directors and serves on a number of committees. Previously, she served as the past Chairperson of the Young Lawyers Division. Marisa also serves her community by participating as a member of the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center (PIRC), a non-profit legal services organization. She also gives her time and legal services as a pro bono volunteer for the Central Pennsylvania Immigration Project (CPIP).
